Southern Nevada is a climbing area in Nevada's Delamar Mountains Wilderness, managed by the Bureau of Land Management's Caliente Field Office. The area sits within designated wilderness, and its climbing is centered on bouldering with a few traditional routes. The climbing here is a mix of bouldering and trad, with eight routes in total. Five are boulders, and two are traditional. The boulders range from V0 to V4 on the V scale, with Starfish at V2 and Incognito Crack at V4. The trad routes are rated at 5.9 on the YDS scale. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show April highs around 74°F and October highs around 78°F, while July averages about 100°F. That station sits roughly 1,300 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures up high run cooler. For a change of pace, the Lower Lake Dike Trail is about 8 miles away.
