The Spy Cliff is a climbing area in Nevada's La Madre Mountain Wilderness, on public land managed by the Bureau of Land Management's Red Rock/Sloan Field Office. Because it sits inside designated wilderness, plan on a backcountry setting rather than a developed site. Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons. A nearby weather station records typical averages of about 70°F highs and 47°F lows in April and about 75°F highs in October, while July highs typically reach about 95°F. That station sits slightly lower than the cliff, so temperatures at the rock run a little cooler. Several other climbing spots lie within a few hundred yards, including Three Peaks Gully and the West Shoulder of Kraft Mountain, both about 0.1 mile away. Ash Spring Trail starts about half a mile off, and Red Rock Canyon Campground is roughly 3 miles away for an overnight base.
