Negro Creek is a moderate out-and-back hike in Nevada's Mt. Moriah Wilderness, part of the Ely Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and runs about 8.3 miles round trip, with a total elevation gain of 1,865 feet. The route starts at a low point of about 7,013 feet and climbs to a high point of about 8,974 feet. The trail is natural-surfaced and does not allow bikes. It is open year-round, so it works for a visit in any season. The climb is a steady one, and the route is best suited to a day of hiking rather than a quick outing. The trail is close to several other hikes, including Second Fork, about 0.4 miles away, and Mount Moriah Trail, about 1.8 miles away. Sheep Canyon Trail and Silver Creek are both within about 2.5 miles.
