Blue Mountain Bike Spur 1 is a short mountain biking route in the Missoula Ranger District of Lolo National Forest in western Montana, managed by the Forest Service. The route is about 1 mile long, climbing roughly 140 feet from a low point of about 3,250 feet to a high of about 3,387 feet. It is one of several named routes in this part of the forest, which sit close together, so the spur makes an easy addition to a longer outing. The route is not steep by any stretch. The steepest section comes near the start, with a grade of about 8 percent over roughly 0.07 miles. That is the main climb, and the rest of the route runs relatively flat. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. A nearby weather station in Missoula records typical July averages of about 85°F for highs and 52°F for lows, with July and August seeing the fewest wet days of the year. Several other routes sit within a quarter mile. Meadowlark and Waxwing are both mountain biking trails, and the Blue Mtn Horse/Hiker - Bike A trail is a hiking option. For a picnic, Pattee Canyon Picnic Area lies about 3 miles away.
