Winter Creek is a hard hike in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, part of the Spotted Bear Ranger District of Flathead National Forest in northwest Montana. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is an out-and-back that climbs from about 5,140 feet to about 7,155 feet over roughly 9.5 miles, with a total elevation gain of about 2,148 feet. The trail is natural-surface and not accessible. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. That makes it a route for hikers and riders on horseback rather than for those on foot or on wheels. Several other destinations sit within a few miles. Winter Cox Divide is about 2.3 miles away, Cox Creek is about 2.8 miles away, and the Middle Fork Flathead River offers canoeing about 3 miles off. Cap Mtn. is about 3.5 miles away.
