Waloven is a hard hike in the Libby Ranger District of Montana's Kootenai National Forest, a 18.3-mile out-and-back that climbs from about 3,340 feet to 5,817 feet, a total gain of 4,094 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route starts at Sims Creek TH 881. The trail is natural-surface and allows both horses and bikes, which makes it a practical option for riders and pack animals. The open season runs from May 1 to November 30. Trapper Creek and Silver Butte Ridge are the closest hikes, both within a mile, and the Silver Butte Fisher River offers canoeing about 0.8 miles away. Lake Creek Campground sits about 5 miles off for an overnight base.
