Tepee Mountain is a short, out-and-back hike in the Three Rivers Ranger District of the Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana. The trail runs about 1.6 miles round trip, rising roughly 198 feet from a low point of 5,508 feet to a high of 5,710 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the nearest town is the district's ranger district center. The climb is gentle and compact. It suits a quick outing in the district, and the route folds easily into a day of exploring the surrounding area. Newton Gulch is about 4 miles away, and Red Top Campground and the Red Top hike both sit about 5 miles off.
