Printers Creek is a hard hike in the Ninemile Ranger District of Lolo National Forest in western Montana, about 9 miles from the district's boundaries. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is an out-and-back that climbs from about 4,500 feet to roughly 7,000 feet, with a total gain of about 1,400 feet. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows bikes, so riders can take it as well as hikers. The route is long and steep, and the climb is one way, so plan for a full day on foot or on two wheels. Wagon Mountain is the closest nearby hike, about 3 miles away, and the Bighorm interpretive trail is about 3.6 miles off. Lolo Creek Campground and Picnic Area, about 7 miles away, offers a place to camp, and Lolo Creek, about 9 miles away, is a paddling option.
