McGregor Shoreline is a moderate out-and-back hike of about 5.3 miles in Montana's Kootenai National Forest, within the Libby Ranger District. The trail runs from a trailhead called McGregor Shoreline TH 60, and the Forest Service manages the surrounding land. The route rises from a low point of about 3,902 feet to a high of about 3,994 feet, a gain of about 83 feet, which makes it a short climb for a walk this long. The trail has a natural surface, and bikes are allowed. It is not an accessible trail. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July and August highs reach about 78°F with lows in the low 40s, based on averages from a nearby weather station at Libby, and snow is common from November through April. The trail is open from about May 1 to November 30. McGregor Lake Campground sits about a mile away, and the climbing areas The Massif and Little McGregor Massifs are both within about 2.6 miles. The Murr Creek hike is roughly 7.4 miles off.
