Hobnail Tom is a hard hike in Montana's Scapegoat Wilderness, part of the Seeley Lake Ranger District of Lolo National Forest. The trail is an out-and-back that rises from about 4,750 feet to 7,900 feet, covering roughly 42 miles with a one-way gain of about 3,200 feet. The route is on natural surface, and horses are allowed. The Forest Service manages the land. Two short hikes, Dry Fork and Old North Fork 3 (Cabin Grade), lie about 0.1 mile away. Mountain bikers can ride Corral Cutoff at about 0.2 mile. For paddling, the North Fork Blackfoot River is about 4.4 miles away, and Big Nelson Campground is about 8.5 miles away.
