Blodgett Creek is a moderate out-and-back hike in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, part of the Stevensville Ranger District of the Bitterroot National Forest in western Montana. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced. The route is about 10 miles long, with a one-way climb of roughly 1,700 feet from a low point of about 5,540 feet to a high of about 6,800 feet. That makes it a day hike for anyone comfortable with a steady, moderate ascent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 81°F with lows near 40°F and the fewest wet days of the year. That station sits about 1,600 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. High Lake and the Parking Lot Wall climbing area are each about a mile away. Sears Lake and Blodgett Pass are both within about 3 miles.
