Alpine 7 is a hard hike in the Swan Lake Ranger District of Flathead National Forest in Montana, managed by the Forest Service. It is an out-and-back route of about 35 miles with a total elevation gain of 396 feet, running from a low point of about 5,580 feet to a high of about 6,938 feet. The trail is a natural surface route, and its difficulty is rated hard. The closest trailheads are the Mt. Aeneas and Camp Misery mountain biking areas, with Birch Lake and Picnic Lakes hikes within a mile. For camping, Graves Creek Campground is about 5.7 miles away, and Anna Creek Cabin is about 6.6 miles away.
