Lake Como Campground, also known as Lower Como, is a Forest Service campground in the Darby Ranger District of Montana's Bitterroot National Forest, about 913 acres of Lake Como. It is one of three campgrounds in the Lake Como Recreation Area, and it sits below the lake, with a large sandy beach and a boat ramp on the south side of the dam. The campground is paved and has a host site and ten 125-foot pull-through RV sites, each with electrical and water hookups. Water and garbage services are available, and three of the sites are handicap accessible. Four handicap accessible vault toilets are scattered throughout the grounds. The understory is grass, and the campsites offer good privacy. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Darby run to highs around 82°F in July, with lows near 50°F. Winters are cold, with January highs around 34°F. Bear country is close by, so practice safe food storage. The Como Lake Loop National Recreation Trail starts about 0.6 miles away, and Three Frogs Campground and the Como-Three Sisters Group Site are both within a mile.
