Copper King Campground is a Forest Service site in the Plains/Thompson Falls Ranger District of Lolo National Forest in western Montana, about 8 miles from Thompson Falls. It sits in a moist river bottom cedar forest, and the adjacent Thompson River offers fishing. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 86°F with only six or seven wet days a month, while June and July bring the most bugs, so bring repellent. Vault toilets are the only amenity. No fees are required to stay here. Large vehicles may find access challenging. Clark Memorial Campground is about a mile away, and the Koo Koo Sint Ridge and Honeymoon Creek hikes are within about 3 miles. Goat Lakes is roughly 3.4 miles off.
