Flag Rock

Flag Rock is a summit in Massachusetts, about half a mile from the town of Risingdale. It sits close to several hiking routes, which makes it easy to fold into a day on the trails around town. Typical averages from the nearby Lenox Dale weather station show a strong seasonal swing. July is the warmest month, with highs around 82°F and lows near 57°F, and June and August are close behind. May and September bring milder days in the upper 60s to low 70s, while October cools to highs near 59°F with lows in the upper 30s. Winter is cold: January and February highs sit in the low to mid 30s, with lows around 13°F. The station sits several hundred feet below the summit, so expect conditions on top to run somewhat cooler than these figures. Nearby trails include the Hickey and Peeskawso Loop and Willow's Trail (orange), both about 1.3 miles away, and the Old Taconic Skyline Trail at about 2.2 miles. The Williams River, a canoeing route, is about 3.3 miles away.
