Main Cliff is a climbing area in Massachusetts, about 2.4 miles from the town of West Townsend. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with The Library, Cliff Top Boulders and Fessenden Crag all about 0.1 mile away, and Fessenden Block about 0.6 mile off. The area is a compact hub of bouldering and top-rope routes, with several named routes within a short distance of one another. The climbing here is a mix of bouldering and top rope. OpenBeta lists five routes in total, with three boulders and two top ropes. The boulders run from V1+ to V5, and the top ropes are rated around 5.8 to 5.9 on the YDS scale. Hand Cannon and Time Flies When You're Having Fun are both V1+ boulders, and Knob Crack is a V5 boulder. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Fitchburg show July highs around 81°F with lows near 61°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s.
