The Torrey C. Brown Trail is a 1.5-mile out-and-back mountain biking route on a converted rail-trail corridor in Maryland, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. The trail is part of the Torrey C Brown Rail Trail and is a green circle route, a short loop that makes it easy to fit into a day of riding or pair with other outings in the area. The route is easy and non-technical, with a total elevation gain of about 40 feet and a wide gravel surface that offers good traction. The steepest section comes at about 0.45 miles in, with a 10% grade, but the rest of the ride stays mostly flat. It's a good choice for beginners and families. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, with October cooling to about 65°F. Climbers will find Fin, The and Raven Rocks about 3 miles away, and the Gunpowder South Trail (White) is a hiking option at about 3.2 miles. Prettyboy Reservoir, roughly 5.5 miles off, offers lake fishing.
