The Torrey C. Brown Trail is a short, easy mountain biking route in Maryland, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. It runs on a converted rail-trail corridor within the Torrey C Brown Rail Trail, about 1.2 miles out and back. The trail is a green circle, a smooth, non-technical ride on well-maintained gravel that suits beginners and families. The route has a total length of about 2.4 miles, with a low point of 358 feet and a high of 417 feet. The steepest stretch comes early, at about 0.07 miles in, with a 6% grade. The wide gravel surface offers good traction and predictable handling. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, with October cooling to about 65°F. Raven Rocks, a climbing area, is about 1.6 miles away, and the Gunpowder South Trail (White) is about 1.8 miles off. The Sandy Lane Trail is about 2.1 miles away, and Prettyboy Reservoir, a lake fishing spot, is about 6.2 miles away.
