It's an out-and-back with almost no climb, and the nearest town is Kokadjo, about 6.4 miles away. Winter is the natural season for it. Typical January averages from a nearby weather station run from a high of 23°F to a low of 5°F, and December and January both see around 13 to 16 wet days. The station sits a few hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. The trail makes an easy addition to a day of skiing or hiking in the area.
