Emmit Brook Trail is a short, nearly flat out-and-back route in The Roaches CE, a non-governmental organization-managed land unit in Maine. The trail is about half a mile long, with a high point of 1,292 feet and a low of 1,276 feet, and it sits within the Roaches area's trail network. Its short length makes it a quick addition to a day of exploring the surrounding trails. Winter is the natural season for cross-country skiing here. Typical January averages from a nearby weather station run from a low of 5°F to a high of 23°F, while March eases to highs around 34°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground may run a little cooler. Several other routes lie close by. Lakeside Trail and Dr. Wiggles Trail are both within about half a mile for more skiing, and Hinckley Cove Trail is a hike at a similar distance. Shaw Mountain, a hike about 0.8 mile away, adds a longer outing to the options.
