Trigg Tower is an easy out-and-back hike of about 1.4 miles in the Hidden Springs Ranger District of Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is natural-surfaced and rated easy, with a total climb of about 150 feet from the start to the top of the tower and back down. The route is short and gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.6 miles in, where the grade reaches about 11 percent. Horses are allowed, and bikes are not. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Dixon Springs show October highs around 71°F with lows near 46°F, and May highs around 77°F. Double Bridge is about 0.8 miles away, and the Trigg hike is about a mile off. Climbers can find Roost, The and Oriole Boulder about 2.2 miles away.
