Rabbit Rock - Southwest is a climbing area in Idaho's City of Rocks National Reserve, managed by the National Park Service. It sits within a cluster of climbing spots and trails, with several other named areas and routes about a tenth of a mile away. The climbing here ranges from trad routes like No Satisfaction (5.8) to sport climbs such as Go Spud Go! (5.12d). The area has eight routes in total, split evenly between sport and trad styles, with typical grades from about 5.8 up to 5.12d. These figures come from OpenBeta climbing routes, and the hardest of the named routes, Go Spud Go!, was first ascended by Boone Speed in 1988. Summer is the warmest stretch. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Rosette, Utah, run to highs in the mid-80s in July, with the station sitting roughly 950 feet lower than the reserve. Winter is cold, with January highs around 35°F and lows near 16°F. Rabbit Rock - Northeast and Rabbit Rock -West are both within a tenth of a mile, along with the South Fork Circle Creek Trail and the Morning Glory Spire climbing area. For an overnight base, Independence Lakes Campground is about 10 miles away.
