Mothership Sector is a climbing area in Idaho's Salmon-Challis National Forest, within the Lost River Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits among several other climbing sectors, including Jet A Sector, Martini Sector and Solar Inversion Wall, all within about a tenth of a mile. The climbing here is all sport, and the routes run from about 5.12+ up to 5.13c. Among the named routes are Skeletor at 5.12+ and La Cabanita Especial at 5.13c, with Gulag Dance Party at 5.12c/d and Bushido at 5.13a. The area is a compact cluster of sport routes rather than a single climb. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 83°F with lows near 50°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. That station sits about 1,500 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures up high run cooler.
