The Gallstone is a climbing area in Idaho's City of Rocks National Reserve, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Checkered Demon, Demon Daze Boulder and Elephant Rock - North all about 0.1 mile away. The name is a play on the rock's shape, and the area offers both sport and trad routes, with grades ranging from 5.7 to 5.12-. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June and September, when typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 75°F to 74°F and lows near 50°F. That station sits about 500 feet lower than the reserve, so temperatures at the Gallstone run a little cooler. The routes here include Rock Lobster (5.7 trad), Biliary Tree (5.8 trad) and I've Got Gall (5.8 sport), with Meningitis (5.12- sport) the hardest. For a walk, Register Rock is about 0.4 mile away and Flaming Rock Trail about 0.6 mile.
