The Spoon Boulder is a bouldering area in City of Rocks National Reserve in Idaho, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Ghetto Boulder and The Dungeon both about 0.1 mile away, and Electric Avenue at a similar distance. The name comes from the boulder itself, and the area's routes range from V0-1 to V8-9, with The Spoon at V3 and the Spoon Project at V8-9. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June and September, when typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 75°F to 74°F and lows near 50°F to 48°F. That station sits about 22 miles away and roughly 420 feet lower than the reserve, so temperatures at the boulders run a little cooler. The climbing here is all bouldering, with six routes on the same boulder. The Spoon is the namesake route at V3, and the Spoon Project is the hardest at V8-9. The Dungeon and Ghetto Boulder are close by, and the Register Rock hike is about 0.2 mile away.
