Typical high / low (°F) and days with rain or snow, 1991–2020. Measured at Mccammon, ID, 8 mi away at 4,770 ft. The station sits about 700 ft lower than this place, so expect it a little cooler here. Source: NOAA NCEI U.S. Climate Normals 1991–2020.

East Gully is an alpine climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land in Idaho's Pocatello Field Office, just 0.1 mile from the Garden Creek Gap climbing area. The two areas sit close together, so climbers can easily combine them in one outing. The climbing here is all alpine, with eight routes on record that range from 5.7 to 5.11b. Among them are Open Book at 5.7 and Vidalia at 5.11b, with Apple Num Num at 5.11a and Whoopsie Daisy at 5.10a. For timing, late spring through early fall is the most comfortable stretch. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in McCammon show highs around 68°F in May and 76°F in September. That station sits roughly 700 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures on the gully run cooler. Nearby, Hawkins Reservoir Campground and Goodenough Creek Campground offer camping within about 6 miles. The Rattlesnake and Mormon Canyon hikes are also within about 5 miles.
