Buzzard Perch is a climbing area in Idaho's City of Rocks National Reserve, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Window Rock - West and Window Rock - East just 0.1 mile away, and Rabbit Rock - Southwest and Parking Lot Rock at a similar distance. The South Fork Circle Creek Trail also starts within a tenth of a mile. The climbing here ranges from trad routes on the easier side to sport climbs and a few harder trad routes. Six routes are listed, with grades from 5.5 up to 5.12+. Summit Route is the easiest at 5.5, and Ghetto Blaster AKA Straight out of the Ghetto is the hardest at 5.12+. Body God, a sport route at 5.11a, was first climbed by Gordon Douglass and Eric Stroud in 1987. Summer is the warmest stretch for a visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Rosette, Utah, run to highs around 86°F in July, while winter highs stay near 35°F.
