Rumble is a short, steep mountain biking route on Bureau of Land Management land in the Challis Field Office of Idaho, about 0.2 miles from the town of Challis. The ride is an out-and-back of roughly 0.4 miles, with a total climb of 165 feet and a high point of about 5,919 feet. The climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 20% grade near the start. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Challis show July highs around 87°F with lows near 52°F, while winter highs stay in the upper 20s. That station sits about 900 feet lower than the route, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. Several other trails start within a quarter mile, including the Joy Ride B hike and the Lower Blue View mountain biking route. For an overnight stay, Big Bayhorse Campground is about 9 miles away.
