Rising Sun is a 4.2-mile out-and-back hike in Idaho's Payette National Forest, within the McCall Ranger District. The trail rises about 180 feet from a low point of 5,417 feet to a high of 5,562 feet, and it is rated moderate. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is natural-surfaced and open to bikes. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in McCall show July and August highs around 81°F with only about five wet days a month, while winter brings highs near 30°F and regular snow days from November through March. The trail is open from May 1 to October 31. Della's Delight and the Rising Sun Trail for mountain biking both sit about 0.1 mile away. Last Chance campground is about 3.4 miles off, and Goose Creek offers canoeing about 4.6 miles away.
