Midway is a short, easy hike in the Montpelier Ranger District of Idaho's Caribou-Targhee National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 2 miles long, with a total climb of 284 feet from a low of roughly 5,946 feet to a high of about 6,228 feet. It's an out-and-back route on a natural-surface trail that is open to bikes and horses. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Bern put July highs around 85°F with lows near 46°F, while winter brings highs around 30°F and regular snow days. Worm Creek is less than a mile away, and Station Creek is about 1.1 miles off. Albert Moser Campground and the Cub River Trail are both within 2 miles.
