Maki Lake is a moderate hike in the McCall Ranger District of Idaho's Payette National Forest, about 4 miles from the town of McCall. The trail is an out-and-back that climbs from roughly 7,800 feet to about 7,860 feet, with a total gain of about 3,200 feet over the round trip. The steepest stretch comes at about 1.7 miles in, where the grade reaches about 33 percent. The trail is natural-surface and allows bikes. It is not an accessible route. Box Lake and Fall Creek Trail both lie within about 1.6 miles. Lake Fork campground is about 4 miles away, and the Baby Problems climbing area is about 5 miles off.
