Little French Creek Meadow is a hard hike of about 8 miles in the New Meadows Ranger District of Payette National Forest in Idaho, managed by the Forest Service. It's an out-and-back route that climbs from roughly 6,146 feet to about 7,323 feet, with a total gain of 1,936 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July and August highs reach about 79°F with lows in the mid-30s, based on averages from a nearby weather station in Warren. That station sits well below the trail's high point, so expect temperatures up top to run cooler. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows bikes. Kennith Lake is less than a mile away, and the Lava Ridge National Recreation Trail and Big Hazard Lake are both about 2 miles off. Hazard Lake campground lies a little over 2 miles away.
