Fitsum Creek is a hard hike in the Krassel Ranger District of Idaho's Payette National Forest, an out-and-back route of about 14.5 miles with a total elevation gain of 3,676 feet. The trail rises from a low point of about 4,393 feet to a high of roughly 8,192 feet. The trail is open year-round, and the Forest Service manages the surrounding land. The route is natural-surface, and it allows both horses and bikes. For a full trip, plan on a long day. The hike is rated hard, and the climb is steep over the course of the route. The Six Mile Ridge and Indian Ridge Trail hikes are both within a few miles, and Confluence Camping and Ponderosa offer camping options about 4 miles away.
