Deep Creek is a 9.4-mile out-and-back hike in Idaho's Payette National Forest, within the McCall Ranger District. The trail rises from about 5,568 feet to about 6,914 feet, a climb of 301 feet one way, and is rated hard. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is open year-round. The route is natural-surface and allows horses and bikes. It is not an accessible trail. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Warren, Idaho, run to highs around 79°F in July and August, with July lows near 37°F. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet below the trail's high point, so temperatures on the ridge run cooler. Upper Payette Lake Campground is about 2.7 miles away, and the Upper Payette Lake Connector hike is about 2.8 miles off.
