Blue Joint-Square Top is a hard hike in the West Fork Ranger District of Idaho's Bitterroot National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The route is an out-and-back of about 19 miles, with a one-way climb of roughly 870 feet from a low point of about 7,586 feet to a high of about 8,656 feet. The trail surface is natural. The Reynolds Lake Spur lies less than a mile away, and Upper Wilkerson, Storm Creek and Surprise Creek are all within about 5 miles. Paddlers can reach the Selway River, about 9 miles off.
