Baby Bear is a short, easy hike in the McCall Ranger District of Idaho's Payette National Forest, about 1.3 miles long with a one-way elevation gain of 36 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced and open to bikes. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in McCall show July and August highs around 81°F with only about five wet days a month, while winter brings highs near 30°F and regular snow days. The trail sits close to other outdoor options. The Polar Express mountain biking route is about 0.1 mile away, and the Baby Bear Trail is about 0.3 mile away. Last Chance campground is about 4 miles off, and Goose Creek offers canoeing about 5 miles away.
