Licklog is an easy hike of about 1.3 miles on the Chattooga River Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests in northeastern Georgia. The trail is an out-and-back with a total elevation gain of about 660 feet, reaching a high point of 1,614 feet from a low of 1,309 feet. The climb is steepest at about 0.34 miles in, with a 14% grade, and the trail's natural surface carries no bikes or horses. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. At the Long Creek weather station, about 5.6 miles away, typical averages run from highs near 76°F with lows around 54°F in May to highs near 70°F with lows around 47°F in October. The station sits at nearly the same elevation as the hike's high point. The trip takes about an hour, and the trail stays open year-round. Fall Creek Portage lies about 1.2 miles away, and the Bartram Trail and its Bartram Chattooga Connector are each about 1.7 miles off. For an overnight base, Whetstone Horse Camp is about 2.8 miles away.
