Earl Cook Recreation Area is a campground in Georgia, managed by the Army Corps of Engineers and located about a mile from the town of Rosamond. It's a day-use destination with a wide range of activities, including boat launching all year, a swim beach, two picnic pavilions, ball fields and a playground that open seasonally. Because of its variety and its easy access from Interstate 85, it has become a popular stop for outings close to town. Reservations are required, and they must be canceled 14 days before the reservation date to get a refund. No refunds are issued after the reservation date, and weather cancellations do not qualify for a refund. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show April and October highs around 75°F, while July highs reach about 90°F. Rocky Point Recreation Area and Long Cane Recreation Area are both about 2.4 miles away, and Whitetail Ridge is about 2.7 miles away. Paddlers can find Long Cane Creek about 6.6 miles from the area.
