Dockery Lake Recreation Area is a campground in north Georgia, set within the Blue Ridge Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests and the Chestatee Wildlife Management Area. The State Department of Natural Resources manages the land, and the site sits about 12.5 miles from the Blairsville weather station, which sits roughly 450 feet lower than the campground. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically spring and fall. Typical averages from the nearby Blairsville station run from highs around 69°F in April to 70°F in October, with September seeing the fewest wet days of the year at about nine. Summer is warmer, with July highs near 85°F. The Lakeshore hike starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Dockery Lake hike is about 2.1 miles off. Climbers can head to Preacher's Rock Boulders, about 1.4 miles away, or G-wall, about 2 miles away. Lake Winfield Scott Recreation Area, roughly 6.6 miles away, offers another camping option.
