Sherlock Boulder is a bouldering area in Connecticut's Babcock Preserve, about 0.3 miles from the Babcock Preserve climbing area. It sits among a cluster of bouldering spots in the preserve, with Mianus Park and Green Egg Boulder about 2 miles away. The area has six bouldering routes, all rated from V0- to V6- on the V scale. The easiest are Ch-Chimney at V0- and Booster at V2, while Right Face is the hardest at V6-. Arise and Full Traverse are both V5-6, and Full Traverse was first climbed by Morgan Patterson in 2004. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 74°F, with July the warmest month at about 83°F. Nearby, the Cabin Trail and Mianus Park are both about 2.2 miles away, and the Green Loop hike is about 2.5 miles off. Paddlers can reach the Bronx River, about 8.6 miles away.
