Meshomasic State Forest is a climbing area in Connecticut, about 2.3 miles from the town of Terramuggus. It is a bouldering destination, with three routes listed, all of them boulders graded V1 through V3. The area is close to other climbing and hiking, so it works well as a stop in a day of exploring the surrounding trails and rock. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Hartford run from highs around 71°F in May to about 76°F in September, with July the warmest at about 85°F. That station sits roughly 775 feet lower than the forest, so temperatures here run cooler. The closest climbing is The Corona Boulder, about 1.5 miles away, and the Shenipsit hike is about 1.2 miles off. The Glastonbury climbing area and the Shepherd's Nine campground are both within about 5 miles.
