Yellow Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about half a mile long and nearly flat, with no elevation gain. The route runs from a low point of 256 feet to a high of 268 feet, and the steepest stretch comes early on, at about 2% grade. The trail is managed by the land's owner, and the nearest town is West Avon, about a mile away. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Burlington, CT weather station put May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. That station sits about 237 feet below the trail, so temperatures on the trail may run slightly cooler. The hike takes about half an hour, and it pairs easily with other trails in the area. White Trail is about 1.7 miles away and White Circle Trail about 2.2 miles. Henry Mason Trail is about 2.5 miles off, and for climbers, the Burlington Fish Hatchery Boulders are about 4.4 miles away.
