Yellow Loop is an easy, 4.4-mile loop hike in Connecticut, about a mile from the town of North Mianus. The route is a loop, and the climb is gentle, with a total elevation gain of 207 feet. The highest point on the loop reaches about 227 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 3.2 miles in, with a grade of about 9 percent. Bikes are allowed on the trail, so it works for hikers and riders alike. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Stamford show May highs around 72°F and September highs around 76°F, with July the warmest month at about 85°F. Several other trails and climbing areas sit close by. Laurel Trail is about 0.1 mile away, Indian Mill Trail about 0.2 mile, and Green Loop about 0.3 mile. Climbers can find Entrance Outcropping about 0.4 mile off.
