Red-Black is a short, easy hike on Tyler Mill town open space in Connecticut, about half a mile long and rated easy. It starts at roughly 180 feet and reaches a high of about 212 feet, with a total climb of 54 feet and a total descent of 90 feet. The steepest part comes at about a quarter of a mile in, with a grade of about 9 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mt Carmel show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, with July the warmest month at about 85°F. Several other short hikes sit close by. Blue-Yellow is about 0.1 mile away, and Green and Pink are each about 0.3 mile away. For climbing, the Right Knee area is about 4.7 miles off.
