Pine Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about a mile from the town of Rockland. The route is a point-to-point walk of roughly 1.1 miles, with a low point of 287 feet and a high of 388 feet. The climb is gentle, with a total gain of 96 feet and a steepest stretch of about 7% at around half a mile in. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Meriden run to highs around 70°F in May and 75°F in September, while July highs reach about 84°F. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run cooler. The hike takes about half an hour. Goat Lot Trail and Cooper Lot Trail both lie about 0.7 miles away, and Bushwack Trail is about 0.8 miles off. Paddlers can reach the Hammonasset River about 1.7 miles away.
