Gray Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 0.5 miles from Canton Valley. It is a short walk of about 0.05 miles, with a total elevation gain of 49 feet from a low point of 425 feet to a high of 474 feet. The trail is easy to fit into a longer outing, and it sits close to several other trails in the same network. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Burlington show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. The Green Trail lies about 0.1 mile away, and the Yellow Trail and Red Trail are each about 0.2 mile off. For time on the water, the East Branch Farmington River is about 5 miles away.
