Friedman Forest Trail is an easy hike in Connecticut, about 1.5 miles from the town of Warrenville. The trail is roughly 1.6 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 205 feet and a total loss of 355 feet. The steepest part comes at about 0.85 miles in, where the grade reaches 14 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Storrs show May highs around 68°F and September highs around 73°F, with July the warmest month at about 80°F. The Richard Hyde Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Pinkham Red and Pinkham Yellow trails are within about half a mile. For an overnight stay, Charlie Brown Campground is about 3 miles off.
