The Compounce Connector Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 1.8 miles from the town of East Bristol. It is a point-to-point route of roughly half a mile, with a steady climb from a starting elevation of about 436 feet to a high point of 881 feet. The trail gains about 500 feet in elevation, and the steepest stretch comes early on, around 0.13 miles in, with a grade of about 26 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Burlington put May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures up top run a little cooler. Several other trails lie close by. The Steep Climb Trail is about 0.9 miles away, and the Steep Climb Connector Trail and the Tunxis Trail are each about 1.2 miles off. Paddlers can reach the Quinnipiac River, about 3.4 miles away.
