Upper Rabbit Run is a short, easy cross-country ski route in Colorado, about 0.8 miles long and rising roughly 150 feet from a starting point near 9,045 feet to a high of about 9,185 feet. The nearest town is Elkdale, about 1.9 miles away. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.6 miles in, where the grade reaches 10 percent. The route also has a small drop of about 86 feet, so it works well as a short outing or a connector between other ski routes in the area. Winter is the natural season for skiing here. Typical averages from the nearby Fraser weather station, which sits about 625 feet lower, show January highs around 31°F with lows near -1°F, while June and July run in the low to mid 70s. Because the station is lower, temperatures on the route run a little cooler. Main Street and Logger's Loop both lie about 0.1 mile away, so the run pairs easily with those. Climbers can head to the Grand County / Fraser Valley area, about 1.8 miles off, and paddlers will find the Fraser River about 7.6 miles away.
