North Star Loop Trail is an easy cross-country ski route of about 1.6 miles in the Aspen Ranger District of Colorado's White River National Forest. It is a short loop, with a high point of 8,039 feet and a low of 8,014 feet, and the climb is gentle, totaling about 12 feet of elevation gain. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.77 miles in, with a grade of about 3 percent. Winter is the natural season for this trail. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Aspen put January highs around 32°F with lows near 10°F, while June runs warmer, with highs around 71°F and fewer wet days. The East Of Aspen Trail lies about 0.8 miles away, and the Benedict Trail is about 1.5 miles off. For an overnight stay, Difficult Group Campground is about 2 miles away, and Weller Campground is about 5 miles away.
